Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Follower Monkey collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the website, backend services, and Chrome extension.

Effective date: May 15, 2026

Summary

Follower Monkey stores Google sign-in sessions and registered Instagram account ownership on the backend. Instagram login sessions are not stored server-side, and collected users, source records, follow queues, and unfollow queues remain in local IndexedDB on the user's computer.

Information we collect

Follower Monkey may process Google account profile information used for sign-in, such as your name, email address, profile image, and internal user identifier.

When you register or connect an Instagram account to your Follower Monkey user, the backend may store that Instagram account's basic information, such as Instagram user ID, username, display name, profile image, and ownership relationship to your Google user.

The backend does not store your Instagram login session, Instagram cookies, Instagram password, or server-side Instagram session credentials.

Source collection records, collected users, follow queues, unfollow queues, and related operational records are stored locally in the Chrome extension on your computer, not in the backend database.

How we use information

We use Google sign-in information to authenticate users and maintain the Follower Monkey server-side session.

We use registered Instagram account information to connect Instagram accounts to the signed-in Google user, support account ownership, and prepare account-based upgrade flows.

The extension uses locally stored collection and queue data to operate the dashboard, filtering, follow, unfollow, and settings workflows on your own device.

Local extension storage

Follower Monkey uses browser-side IndexedDB to keep extension state, Instagram-account-specific source data, collected users, follow queues, unfollow queues, settings, and activity records on the device where the Chrome extension is installed.

These local collection and queue records are not stored in the backend. They remain on the user's local computer unless the user clears browser or extension data.

Local data is organized per Instagram account where applicable so that sources, collected users, follow queues, and unfollow queues are not intentionally mixed between accounts.

Backend storage

The backend may store Follower Monkey user records, Google sign-in session records, registered Instagram account records, and account ownership relationships.

The backend does not store Instagram login sessions or the locally collected Instagram user pool. Collection records and queues stay in the extension's local IndexedDB storage.

AI and third-party services

If AI filtering or prompt optimization is used, the extension may send the profile data being evaluated, user-provided prompts, and, when applicable, profile image URLs or image content to the backend so an AI provider can return a decision or optimized prompt.

If gender filtering is used, names or profile-related data may be sent to a gender-detection provider. If the provider cannot return a supported result, the backend may treat the result as unknown.

Third-party providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

Payments and billing

The upgrade interface may collect billing details such as full name, address, city, country, card number, expiration date, and CVC when payment collection is connected.

Payment processing should be handled by a payment provider. Follower Monkey should not store full card numbers or CVC values on its own servers unless a compliant payment-processing implementation explicitly requires and secures that handling.

Proxy settings

If you configure proxy settings in the extension, the extension may apply those settings to the Chrome profile where it is installed. Proxy settings may include host, port, protocol, username, password, and routing scope.

Proxy configuration affects browser traffic according to the selected scope and Chrome extension permissions.

Data sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers needed to operate authentication, hosting, database, AI, gender-detection, analytics, payment, or infrastructure services.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and security, or to investigate abuse or misuse of the service.

Your choices

You can remove or reset extension data through browser and extension controls. You can also remove Instagram account ownership records from supported product screens.

You can choose whether to configure optional features such as AI prompts, gender filtering, proxy settings, and automation intervals.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet-connected service or browser extension can guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping your Google, Instagram, Chrome profile, and local device access secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
